FAQ

Why are you called Blooms for Life? A portion of our profits generated from our sales are donated to local nonprofits. These nonprofits value, protect, and nourish the gift of life. Hence, Blooms (lots of vegetable and herbs have flower blooms) for Life (the charities we support). Find the list of nonprofits we support here.

What is your address? 2140 Highway 9 West, Wallace, SC 29596. Please visit our contact page here for more information. You can also find us at Downtown Markey Day in Bennettsville in April and Cheraw Farmers Market in late April/May.

Do you give advice on how to garden or which plants to grow? Absolutely! I love garden talk! Click here to send your questions. If you follow us on social media, I post when I will teach free classes at the Marlboro County Extension Office. You can also ask to be added to our mailing list.

How much are your plant starts? Lettuce, arugula, and collards will be in a 4 pack and are $4 each. Onions will have 10-15 plants in each container and are $3 each. Tomato, eggplant, okra, and peppers plants are $4 each or 2 for $6. Flowers, cucumbers, herbs, melons, and squash plants are $3 each or 2 for $5. Payment is due at pick-up. There is a 10% discount if you pre-order by February 7th, 2026. See our list of plants here.

Lettuce, arugula, collards, and onions are available on March 6th (5pm-7pm) and March 7th (9am-1pm).

The rest of our spring plant starts are available for pick-up at our farm April 9th (pre-orders only) from 5pm-7pm, April 10 from 5pm-7pm, and April 11 from 9am-1pm. *Please Note: This year, we are adding a pre-sale pick-up date. It is April 9th from 5-7pm, the day before the sale starts. This allows less traffic on the sale date but also gives anyone who pre-orders first pick on any extra plants they want to purchase. We encourage those who pre-order to bring a friend along to also take advantage of this first pick sale.

How much money have you raised to donate? Over the last 5 years, we have raised $2,875. This is an amazing amount, and we are so proud of the support we have received in order to give back to our community.

Why pre-order? This is a great question. This is to ensure that you will get all the plants you want at the plant sale on April 9th, 10th, and 11th. Last year, we sold out of some favorite varieties. On the day of the sale, your order will be set aside for a quick pick-up. Please bring a box with you. We will have extras available if you wish to purchase more or bring a friend (hint, hint). You also will get a 10% discount if you order before February 7th, 2026.

When should I plant my seedlings? As soon as you can. The day you pick them up is ideal. The plants will be acclimated to being outdoors all day and night. If the forecast calls for a late frost, you could hold off on planting warm season crops like tomatoes. Take them outdoors during the day and indoors, like a garage, at night. Make sure you water when needed.

How do I order? Send us an email at bloomsforlifefarm@gmail.com. You can also send us a message on Facebook Messenger through our Facebook page. A third option is to send your order on our contact page on our website.

How and when do I pay? You pay at pick-up. We prefer cash, but we also have Venmo.
